Understanding the opportunity
“You have five years to reinvent the legal profession…” according to renowned legal futurologist Richard Susskind speaking at the Law Society’s annual conference in 2016. Legal Week Connect organisers, ALM needed to create a new event with a clear proposition for the legal industry.
BE Vivid Thinking
It was project with ambition. To imagine and engineer a new event for the ALM portfolio fit to debate the near future of the legal profession and the disruptive issues and forces facing them. ALM have an operational production unit, but had to have a new approach and present itself beyond anything they had done before so turned to BE VIVID to plug their skill gap, identify the issues, come up with ideas and format.
The perfect solution
A workshop based experience fast-tracked the decision-making process based on the same shared insight and intelligence and imagined the event as an infographic. Our strategic and design teams married up with the ALM team to reconstruct, then reconstruct the event. We then created a new brand identity where all assets from the logo to the website and marketing collateral shared a decisive language and a set of unique semiotics that informed and presented the event with a common DNA. This consultative approach gave ALM control of their event with clear agreement on the issues, clear agreement on the idea which in turn gave the team more freedom and the confidence to focus resources on the all-important delivery.
Evaluating the Impact
The event resulted in over 70+ percent pre-registered turnout of the most senior and innovative lawyers in the profession. With branding clarity the newly design event brought conjoined identity across its talent, tech and engage strands setting the path to face a bold new future.
