Client Summer Reception

V&A Museum

International flavours blend to offer guests the best of both worlds

Understanding the opportunity
When an international trading company wanted to entertain their most senior clients and prospects, they needed to deliver an experience that would effortlessly demonstrate their size and origins. At the same time, they were keen to celebrate the respect for cultural differences that typify their approach to client management.

BE Vivid Thinking
Our task was about more than just conducting a venue search, it was about creating the ideal environment for an evening of culture and collaboration. We knew that fusion was key to answering this brief – designing an evening that would offer an inspiring combination of Japanese and English influences in a refined setting.

The perfect solution
Over 400 high-profile guests spent an evening enjoying the unrivalled splendour of the Dome and Renaissance Gallery in the V&A. Tastefully dressed in an inspiring fusion of Japanese and English garden styles, we developed a colour scheme that reflected the twenty seven foot Dale Chihuly Rotunda chandelier suspended from the dome.
A private VIP drinks reception took place before the main guests arrived, by which time the venue was filled with the sound of classical music, provided by an all-female string octet.  Giant displays of tastefully lit hydrangeas created an effortless intimacy for the guests, as they picked from an elaborate display of contemporary twists on classic European canapés. Representing Japan’s extraordinary contribution to food and culture, we created an interactive sushi station, where highly-skilled chefs gave breath-taking live demonstrations of this culinary art form.

Evaluating the Impact
The key objective to remove the barriers between the company’s important clientele and the executive board was achieved in this single event. Guests were made to feel extremely welcome in a setting fit for royalty.
