A seasonal reception and dinner can be an ideal opportunity to thank clients for their business, and to reaffirm your commitment to the highest standards of service and professionalism. However, as with any kind of hospitality event, these international investment specialists wanted to make it clear that this event was about rewarding their strongest relationships, with no other agenda.

Creating an exclusive experience is about so much more than opulence, since guests can easily become distracted by the luxury on display. Instead, we wanted to cultivate a different kind of event, by using a newly refurbished and reopened space in High Holborn. In addition to its super-premium details, the mirrored surfaces in the Grand Ballroom enabled us to create a multi-dimensional sense of reflection, in an environment that effortlessly combined the progressive with the traditional – all of which subtly embodied the tenets of our client’s brand.
The perfect solution
Inspired by the spectacular surroundings, we focused on making the most of this magical Edwardian setting – 200 guests arrived via the main archway, decorated with traditional Christmas décor. Huge displays of greenery, with accents of red and gold, set a suitably festive tone, and inside the ballroom, tables were adorned with intricate winter wonderland-style displays in large bell jars.
Following a drinks reception and a range of delightful canapés, guests dined on a heritage beetroot salad, with goat’s cheese and marinated blackberries, followed by ricotta, feta, mozzarella tortellini with Parma ham, rocket and parmesan cream. Then, after a main course of slow roasted beef, celeriac gratin and glazed carrots, the meal ended with an earl grey and milk chocolate bavarois desert with manjari sorbet and cocoa bean crisp.
Throughout the evening, guests were entertained by a talented up-close magician, who worked the room with a bewildering array of illusions. Prizes were awarded to raffle winners by the MC, and then the DJ played some classic dance music late into the night.
Evaluating the Impact
The resulting effect of bringing together their clients at a London setting, was one of engaged celebration in a style that reflected the company’s values. An internal survey showed that 95% of guests enjoyed the evening and 97% felt that their relationship with the client was important.
